Shaped glass fibre thermal insulation products are intended for thermal insulation of hot-water boilers, in electric furnaces, lining of dip tubes and aluminum pouring trays, insulation of crucibles in induction furnaces, sealing of electrode holes in ladle furnace units of electric arc furnaces and for other purposes with a classification temperature of 1,220°C, 1,260°C, 1,400°C and 1,425°C.

The shape, dimensions, and maximum dimensional deviations shall correspond to the customer drawings and be agreed upon between the manufacturer and the consumer. In the absence of maximum deviations of dimensions in the drawing, the manufacturer has the right to unilaterally use the maximum deviation of dimensions specified in the table.

The presence of traces of adjustment on the surface of products is not a rejection sign, since adjustment of products is provided for by the technological process.

At the beginning of operation of the IFTS-500 (1260), IFTS-500 (1400) grade products, when they are heated above 150 °C, an odour and smoke may appear, associated with the burning of the organic binder used in production. There is no deterioration in the physical and chemical properties.
